When I just Save a file why is it marked as changed
When I save my project, without making changes, why does the Copia Desktop App detect it as a modification?
In some cases, users may want to look at their projects, and out of habit, will click on the "Save" button prior to closing. In other cases, they may make a change and then undo that change in the same session...saving the project when complete.
In both of these cases, it is likely that the Copia Desktop App will detect a change to the file. This is because the binary signature of the file will change during the save operation. Just like the "modified date" in Windows will update, Copia will also see this as a modification.
This change detection is different from the render of the logic, which in this case, has not changed.
The user has two options in this case:
- You can commit the change with a summary explaining what happened
- You can right click on the file in the Changes tab, and choose to "Discard Changes"
If you are unsure if you did make a change, the safer option is #1!
