DeviceLink Rockwell error: "Failed to get Controller Info or Revision from controller"

This error might indicate that the Device's Comm Path is incorrect OR the file-name in the repository doesn't match the name in the PLC itself.

Failed to get Controller Info or Revision from controller

 

If you see the above error message on a failed Rockwell backup, check the following:

  1. Ensure that the Comm Path that is set for the device is correct. The Driver name, IP address, and Backplane slot # must all match the hardware configuration and the RSLinx/FactoryTalk Linx configuration
  2. Ensure that the source file in source control matches the name of the project in the PLC. For example, you will see this error message if you try to back up a PLC with the project name Sorter.ACD, but the source file in Copia is called Sorter_080923.ACD
