Can Copia track changes across PLC project versions?

Yes, Copia can track your changes through a PLC version upgrade, assuming that the filename remains the same

As long as the underlying filename is the same before and after the version upgrade, Copia will be able to compare both versions of the projects. For example, upgrading your Rockwell Studio 5000 project from V34 to V35 will render successfully.

 

PLC platforms that don't retain the same filename between versions, such as Siemens' TIA Portal, will not be rendered by Copia. For example, if you upgrade your TIA Portal project from V16 to V17, Copia will see that as a deleted file and a newly created file since the file's extension changed from .zap16 to .zap17.
