Can Copia convert code between PLC vendors?

Copia does not have the capability to convert code from one PLC platform to another.

A relatively common question that we get asked is:

Can Copia convert my TIA Portal code to Rockwell? I want to use standard code on both platforms

The answer to the question is no, Copia doesn't currently have any way to convert code between one PLC platform to another. There are a number of reasons for this, with the primary being that each vendor implements the IEC 61131 standard for programming languages differently, which means that code from one platform is not able to be directly swapped with a different one.

While this is true, you can still use Copia to create a sort of library repo that you use to manually create versions of the same code for different platforms.
